Crystal Quartz

Crystal quartz is silicon dioxide in its purest form — the most abundant mineral in the earth's crust. It forms in hydrothermal veins and pegmatite rock as silica-rich water cools and crystallizes. Pure quartz grows as six-sided prisms, sometimes reaching enormous size. Brazil, Madagascar, and Arkansas in the United States are major sources of gem-quality clear quartz. Unlike amethyst or citrine, crystal quartz carries no trace elements to give it color — its clarity comes from the absence of impurity rather than the presence of anything.
Perfectly transparent, it allows light to pass through completely undistorted. What you see through it is the world unchanged — just more sharply defined. It is the plainest of the quartzes and also the most versatile: it does not compete with other stones or metals, and it works with everything. For people who think clearly, move cleanly, and do not need decoration to make a statement. Wear it as a quiet constant, any day, any setting.
